My Problem
After years the battery was depleted. The iPod was sentimental. A free item from when I worked for a big tech company... Early on we got an iPod when we started to keep info on and probably to show off the product to customers.
My Fix
Easier than I though it would be. The cables were a little tricky but all in all I was happy.
My Advice
I did have to reset the iPod, fortunately I still had a cheat sheet from when I was a Genius.

Wow, that's a classic. I mean real classic, not like the "new"one I have that Apple named the iPod Classic.
