My Problem

Original phone battery was dead and stuck in boot loop - wouldn't take a charge at all and tried all the reset functions to no avail (hard reset, DFU mode, heat up phone (not recommended), etc.).

My Fix

Really well. iFixit provided all the tools I needed to replace the battery and the instruction steps were clear and *mostly* detailed.

My Advice

The issue I ran into is that the new battery connector did not line up with the socket on the logic board. When I looked at the old battery that I had pulled out, it had an accordion fold in the ribbon cable, and the new one was totally flat. So I had to replicate those folds to make the new connector line up with the socket. It was a tricky step to create those creases, and one that wasn't covered in the instructions.
