My Problem

My GPS signal was not working consistently (especially while using Waze—kept getting an "unable to locate GPS signal" message. Took it to an iPhone repair place and was told I would probably just need a new phone. Googled the problem and found iFixit!

My Fix

I am not a tech-y person but figured for the price I would give it a try, and if it didn't work I'd have to get a new phone. When I opened the shipping box and saw the message, "You Got This," I felt a little more confident! I was pleasantly surprised that I was able to complete the fix successfully, and now my GPS works perfectly again. It took me a little over an hour, and I was so excited when I saw the phone power up normally!

My Advice

I read through the directions in the guide twice before I started. I used a rimmed cookie sheet with a white paper towel to put the pieces in as I removed them. I also used small post it notes taped to the paper towel upside town (with the sticky edge up) and put the screws on the sticky part so they would stay on the post it. I labeled each screw with the step number and color from the guide.
