My Fix
The repair process, although technical, and requiring an assistant (to improve the process), took far less time and technical skill than I supposed. I think that most people would be able to accomplish this repair!
My Advice
Do this with a friend to help hold things! Make sure to separate your screws to make for easier assembly!
