My Fix

The guide advised to remove the speakers to avoid any damage to them from the glue removal solution. This requires removing the entire logic board which is a very long and difficult process. I decided instead to just tilt the laptop so the battery end was on the bottom, that way the solution would only move downward. I also placed a sheet of aluminum foil between the keyboard and the screen to avoid any damage to the screen. Very carefully I would apply small amounts of the solution at a time to avoid any of it getting to the speakers. This worked pretty well, but you have to be very patient.

My Advice

When using the provided cards to slide under the battery, I found the best approach was to try getting under the top two corners of each individual battery cell. This would then give you more leverage to swiftly lift the entire cell up, while slowly applying the solution.
