My Problem
With a very shattered glass and a few months of packing tape on the surface, it was time to replace the display.
My Fix
The repair went great! The screen is definitely more blue-tinted, but the guide made it very easy. Only challenge was in the adhesive replacement. I was thrilled to get the diecut adhesive for the display in my kit, but it was a little small, so I wish I'd tried the assembly before putting it down to be confident in everything lining up right. As it stands, I can still notice a slight offset of the display from it not aligning quite right when I closed everything back up. That said, I doubt anyone else will notice.
My Advice
Three things not listed in the guide that would have been helpful to do before I put the new adhesive down,
1) Clean off all the old adhesive very well.
2) Test putting the screen in before adding the new adhesive.
3) Make sure the adhesive cutout fits perfectly in - mine was a little short and I noticed too late to fix it.
