My Problem
The Seagate drive failed. (shocking, I know)
My Fix
Replaced the drive with a samsung SSD. The guide on ifixit was so helpful. I mean, really, really, you cant believe how helpful it was. Its like space ships that hang in the air the same way that bricks dont.
My Advice
SSD took some thinking to mount. Used a modified PC mount and zip tied it in. Other than that it went well. Oh and for re-installing the OS use Command-Option-R if you dont have access to any kind of local image.
