My Problem
This was to replace a very dim screen. I’ve replaced the screen twice, and the last replacement was very dim and very glossy, as well as not very responsive to touch. While I certainly don’t expect OEM-quality parts, however, what I received was a replacement display no better than the $40 options on Amazon. Literally the same Chinese stamps and markings from the one I was replacing. Sure, it comes with really nice tools, but that doesn’t justify the difference in cost.
My Fix
The repair was a breeze. This was the absolute fastest replacement I’ve done, thanks to having the speaker/camera/sensor all in one place and already mounted.
My Advice
Be sure to set aside a tray to keep your screws when disassembling. Place them roughly in the same pattern as you took them out, so the different sized screws don’t get mixed up.
