Cracked screen and old battery
My Fix
Replaced cracked screen and old battery. Everything went smoothly although I have to disclose that I've done this several times already to my kids' phones and even my Mom.
My Advice
Make sure to view the videos and read the step by step instructions. Don't rush and follow each step if you are doing it for the first time.
