The screen was broken from being dropped

The repair, first time doing this one, took longer than expected, but went fine.
My Advice
The screen was purchased without the camera and IR sensor, etc. so those items had to be moved from the old screen to the new one. This added some time to the repair. If you have $10 extra you can get the more expensive front panel that includes these items and save time. If those items are still good though, you can save them from your old screen and save them from going to the landfill (ewaste). Since the phone was a little older, I did the battery too since it was losing capacity and with the phone open and since it had to be disconnected anyway, it was a no-brainer to replace.
