Hard Drive Recovery - Best Screw Driver Set

Nathan Carr -

My Problem

Bad heads, PCB issues, etc.

My Fix

I use this kit regularly for my recovery jobs. I get many different hard drives coming into my shop: WD, Seagate, Hitachi, Fujitsu, Toshiba, etc. and they come with all kinds of issues. Everything from deleted files to platter damage. You name it, I see it. This kit is an absolute pleasure to use. The screwdriver is so well made. It has a bearing in the palm rest that makes the drive spin effortlessly. Its weighted and completely made of metal. Very very well made. The bits are also high quality. Hard to find a good set these days. They are hard and resistant to twisting. This makes it perfect for those stubborn screws. Plus, the security bits are handy. Seagate recently came out with a 2TB slim drive that has a single pentalope for its head screw. This kit? Has the exact bit I need.

The other nice thing is the screw driver has a narled handle so i can grip it while wearing gloves and body suit in our clean room. MUCH easier to grip. Bits are easy to access and swap.

My Advice

Nothing really. Very well thoughtout and well made tool set. The 1/4" to 4mm adapter could be better (bit wobbly and not magnetic). Other than that it is perfect.
