The problem was a worn out hard drive

My Fix

I tried everything that the Apple Web site recc . for re-installing MacOS....nothing worked.

My Advice

I bought the tool kit from you all....and I had a spare 500 gig laptop hard drive lying around and I installed it and it worked!
