My Problem
Old battery
My Fix
It went well enough, although it wasn't a snap. Disassembly went smoothly, although an iClack would have helped. Removing the old adhesive was difficult. Both adhesive strips broke quickly after they were gently lifted. A hair dryer made the adhesive pliable enough that a plastic card could be used to slowly, very slowly, lift the old battery out. I found reattaching the cables also difficult. They have to be perfectly aligned. No tool convinced me they were inserted except for my finger. The new battery is working well.
My Advice
Heat the old adhesive strips BEFORE attempting to pull them out; don't wait for them to break. And put a zip tie around the phone to prevent inadvertently damaging the home button cable. I made a movement limiter with a clothes pin and some wire, but later read someone's else's suggestion of the zip tie. It is a much better solution.
