My Problem
I purchased an iPhone 6s on eBay and it arrived in perfect condition but had a well worn battery. A battery health checker rated the battery wear as extreme.
My Fix
I purchased the repair kit and battery from ifixit and studied the ifixit videos and other videos online. It went well. Prying the screen off the phone was much harder than the videos showed. I managed to get the screen up enough to work in the spudger and then slide it around the edges of the screen. Also, one of the tape strips pulled out like it was supposed to. The second one snapped and retreated under the battery after pulling it out about 1/4 of the way. Dang! I applied heat by means of a buckwheat microwavable heating pad. It helped. I got the battery out with little bending.
My Advice
Go slowly. Watch all the videos you can.
