My Problem
i had no response from my iphone 5c touch screen. i could navigate somewhat with siri but none with touch. a short chat with apple support told me i should go to an apple shop or GENius bar as the problem appeared to be hardware not software. i ask them if they suspect the screen. their response was in the affirmative. allright, this being my first and only apple device ownership icanfixithat with ifixit easy. i place my order, receive it promptly and do as the online repair guide shows. (good work on the repair guide, many thanx)
My Fix
the swap-out goes without a hitch. the screen comes on beautifully but still no touch response. another chat with apple and when asked where the screen replacement was done i tell them i did it.
My Advice
apple obviously does not want any self-repair done. i have since completed 3 system restores to factory defaults to try to save this device and cannot get complete touchscreen usage overall.
