My Problem
I have an iPhone 5 that had a completely shattered screen with shards of glass falling out. I needed a phone for my 14 year old son who is starting to referee soccer games. I've never done anything like this but when I found the ifixit repair kit and detailed instructions I felt confident I could do it myself.
My Fix
It was a slow start trying to lift the screen with the suction cup because of how badly broken the screen was. With a little looking around I found a simple video of a guy showing where he put tape and where he put the suction cup. I followed those steps to get the screen lifted and then followed the steps in the ifixit guide and everything was as shown in the guide. I really appreciated the added tips for the reverse steps of putting the parts back together. I felt a great sense of accomplishment when I turned on the phone and everything worked! This repair kit is a great value and you've made it possible for more folks to be able to do it themselves with your fantastic instructions. Thanks!
My Advice
Keep the tiny screws and other parts organized and labeled as suggested! Be patient when reattaching the cables. It's difficult to line the connectors up but it's worth taking your time so nothing gets bent or broken.
