30 minutes

Easy

My Problem

The trackpad was damaged by a dying battery which expanded and pushed up against the trackpad.

My Fix

The replacement went well, although the guide was for a 2011 macBook, so slightly different

My Advice

The trackpad for the 2010 MacBook uses a little yoke to hold the trackpad in place. This doesn't show up in the guide, but the little aluminum yoke is included with the parts. Look at the way the yoke is attached to your old trackpad and put the new yoke on the new trackpad in the same way.
