My Problem
After 9 years, my original iPod battery finally died and wouldn't hold a charge longer than 40 minutes.
My Fix
It was pretty straightforward. The plastic tools didn't do much, but the putty knife is KEY.
My Advice
I ended up using the metal tool to flex the case enough to get the putty knife in, then just use the putty knife mostly. Only bent one metal tab. You can't even tell I took it apart now!
