My Problem
Late 2012 MacBook Pro had slowed down to a crawl. It had an i7 processor, but the 5400 rpm HDD could not keep up after years of use. The new SDD drive has made a huge difference in performance. Even with Sierra installed it works great. I would definitely recommend it.
My Fix
It was easy if you follow the instructions.
My Advice
I did have to spend considerable time creating a bootable flash drive. The sudo command needs to be updated for Sierra. Some of the parameters with spaces need to be in quotes. Not sure if there is a way to get around it but I also had to set up the root user.
