My Problem

Wife's iMac failed to start up one morning. Despite its age (2010), the iMac was perfectly suited for the wife's browsing and word processing needs, so it made sense to try to determine the cause and repair it before buying another iMac. First stop: iFixit.com.

My Fix

The repair went very well. Before buying the part, I checked out the video and instructions on the iFixit.com web site. Seemed simple enough, and it was. I took my time and carefully reviewed each step before attempting it. Had a problem during reassembly getting the last screw into place on the LCD panel. Magnet kept grabbing the screw. So I now have a screw sitting here on my desk looking for another purpose.

My Advice

None, really. The instructions were easy to follow. Watch out for that magnet, though!
