My Problem
I don't want to connect my personal phone to the company wifi, so I was given a beat up iPhone 4 that someone wasn't using anymore. The back glass was shattered when I got it, so I put a cover on it... no big deal. It sits on a dock all day. The battery didn't hold a charge very long when I got it, but now it doesn't charge at all. It even dies sometimes while docked.
My Fix
The repair was easier than expected thanks to the tools in the purchased kit and the step-by-step instructions on the iFixit web site. I'm pretty handy, but this was my first time trying to repair a phone. Done in 20 minutes. No issues. Everything worked as it should.
My Advice
You'll definitely want to have some pointy tweezers at the ready. That little contact that slips under the battery connector shield can be a booger to re position without them.
