Smooth and easy. With a caveat.

Easy

My Problem

The glass was crumbling away in shards, despite the clear packing tape.

My Fix

Almost as smooth as the iFixit video and pictorial. However there are other videos on youtube for the 5c that are more informative and in-depth, so I watched several before ever turning a screw.

UPDATE:

The phone works less than flawlessly...digitizer response has been erratic, but not constantly: ghost touches and swipes...weird!

Display quality is like new, but not as-good-as-new. The glass smudges easily with skin oils and fingerprints.

My Advice

I made my own thin aluminum 'spudger' from a piece of aluminum flashing...very handy for getting under the adhesive-backed home button ribbon cable connector. In my instance the plastic opening tool wasnt thin enough to get under it. If you do this, be sure to de-bur the aluminum with a piece of 220 sandpaper to avoid an edge that's too sharp.
