My Problem

"Drive Genius" reported that the HDD was damaged and that I should back it up and replace it as soon as possible. I decided to replace it with a SSD.

My Fix

I ordered the Essential Electronics Toolkit and adhesive strips from iFixit and followed the video instructions from the iFixit site. I bought a 750GB SSD along with a mounting bracket from Amazon and replaced the HDD with the new SSD the entire process took about an hour and I experienced no issues whatsoever.

My Advice

The video shows to remove the left speaker but I found that it can be unscrewed and slid slightly to the left which provides enough space to easily take out the old drive and replace it with a new SSD.
