My Problem
Computer was running extremely slow. Several minutes to open an app or boot.
My Fix
From the research I had done I decided to try the SATA cable first. I purchased a $12 cable from amazon and that didn't solve my problem. I then ordered the 1TB SSD, went through the very helpful instructional video and the problem was still there. In fact, the laptop wouldn't even recognize the SSD. I went back to the SATA cable and purchased a quality OEM $44 cable and that was the cure. I regret the $12 junk cable but not the SSD and memory upgrade, eventually the HD would have failed. The computer now works lightning fast, boots in seconds not minutes. Best and easiest upgrade to extend the life of the mac.
Great customer service and user friendly web site. This will be my first stop for any future repairs.
