Somehow the owner had broken the trackpad as per image.

The repair went swimmingly! :-)
My Advice
I purchased the IFixIT 54 Bit Driver Kit. It was a mistake as I wish I had purchased the Classic Pro Tech Toolkit instead. I think I will soon have a second-hand 54 Bit Driver Kit for sale or maybe I'll just keep it. :-) These tools are just tooooo good. The 54 Bit Driver Kit more than did the job but the extra tools in the Classic Pro Tech Toolkit makes it so much better if you just happen to have a snag and are missing a tool that my present Kit doesn't have.

The Phillips #000 screwdriver since the recommended Phillips #00 was just too big for the screws on this MacBook Pro.
