Battery Replacement after Water Damage

My Problem

Girlfriend spilled water on her macbook. It turned on and worked on AC but once unplugged it turned off. I opened up the laptop and found that the pcb controller on the battery was corroded.

My Fix

After wrestling the battery out of the case, I plugged in the new battery, turned on the laptop, unplugged the power adapter, and voila! It stayed on. The $750 fix apple was going to do ended up being a $100 battery replacement.

My Advice

When prying up the battery instead up prying using the case as a fulcrum, pull up on the card.
