My Problem
iPhone 6 battery was worn out.
My Fix
Replacement went well, although it took much longer than the online overview I'd read made it sound. The adhesive holding the old battery in place was relentless, and it took several sessions with a hair dryer before I was able to remove the old battery from it's grip, being very careful not to twist or otherwise damage the case. In the end, it all went well, but it proved to be more difficult than I thought it would be.
My Advice
Don't worry about deforming the old battery as you pry it out of the case. It's no good anyway.
