My Problem

Battery would not charge or hold a charge and would drop percentages within seconds

My Fix

The repair was fine. I struggled with the suction cup and getting the face plate off the first time. Then went through all the instructions without too much trouble. Getting the battery out wasn't too hard. When putting it back together, the face plate wasn't laying flat and I struggled to get it off again. Eventually I got it and everything seems good. The battery is working better than before.

My Advice

1. When removing the face plate, put the suction cup as close to the home button as you can. Pry with the plastic tool near the headphone jack to get it off. I saw this in the comment section and it really helped when I was struggling to get the face off to lay it flat again. Prior to seeing that instruction I was struggling for about half an hour.

2. Removing the battery wasn't too hard for me compared to the face plate. Don't remove plastic tab. Pull on it enough to loosen the sticky relationship and then use the plastic tool to pry from the other side.

3. Everything else was fine. Be careful and follow the steps. The fixit battery saved me saved me some money and an hour drive each way to the Apple store, which I am grateful for. Even though it took me an hour to fix at least I wasn't in the car spending money on gas and burning fossil fuels for twice as long. Although you have to consider that it had to be shipped from somewhere and someone had to drive it to me, but I think all and all it was a good decision.
