My Fix

Repair went easily. This was the second time on this phone.

My Advice

The first time I did this, I ended up with a display panel that was not flush with the case at the top. What I had not noticed was a flange on the inside of the panel that was to slide over a lip on the inside of the case. When I put it together, I crushed the extensions on this flange and the case would not fit against the display. Ended up with a crack on the display when it was used for a just a little while.

On the second repair, I finally noticed the flange after crushing the extensions again. I pried off the plastic extension pieces, and the display fit flush against the case, albeit not without some flex. You of course should not have to pry them off, but just fit them properly to begin with.

It is probably obvious to most people, but if you don't know, be sure to slide the flange on the inside of the top of the display onto the case, and fit it before you try to press down on the sides or bottom. This is not obvious from the teardown, since it really is not an issue at that point, but you need to know when you put it back together.
