As easy as they described.

MacBook Air 13" Mid 2011 Battery Replacement

15 minutes

Easy

My Problem

The original battery was 5 years old, and the computer would only run a couple of hours. Also, the battery status indicated "Service Battery", it only showed 300 total cycles, and the cycle count wasn't increasing over time. With all of the travel that I do, the battery had to have way more than 300 cycles in 5 years.

My Fix

It was as easy as it looked. While I had the computer open I blew out all of the dust with a canned duster. Not sure why this was rated as moderate. All that it requires is two screwdrivers, there are no locking clips, nothing is taped or glued in place, and the battery connector is very easy to separate.

My Advice

The parts tray in the Pro Tech Toolkit was very helpful in keep track of which screw goes where. Put one screw in each compartment, and arrange them the way that they go back in. It also helps to keep track of them and not lose any.
