replaced my iphone 5 battery successfully, but damaged the volume flex
My Problem
Battery of my iPhone 5 was dying.
My Fix
Replaced battery successfully. The "how to" videos, by ifixit and by another contributor on youbube, were very helpful.
My Advice
It be very helpful IF the "how to" videos can mention that, when pulling out the old battery, the customers need to know that the very delicate "volume flex" cable is right under one side of the battery. No tools should be used close to that edge of the battery. In my case, without knowing the risk, my tool damaged the Volume flex and now volume can not be adjusted any more.
