My Problem

My daughters one month old 13" MacBook Pro got hungry and decided to go for some cereal/milk that was in the bowl below. Should have tried lactose free. It tried drinking the milk though the optical drive opening.

The milk fried the bluetooth card and made the felt opening of the optical drive not so soft.

Brought to Apple store, where they made me feel like a criminal and scolded me about voiding the warranty and that "Spill Damage" = $775.00. Even though the computer still worked. I said goodbye and a few choice words to them.

My Fix

I searched around, found ifixit, and decided to tackle the job myself.

The repair went great, the product worked (and still works), the guide was awesome.

Took about an hour and saved myself about $700.00.

Thank you very much.

My Advice

When re-assembling watch out for the antenna wire placement During Step 9. The metal clip retained by the left 10.3 mm screw shown in step 10, cut into one of the antenna wires.
