My Problem
The original fan was, how should I say it...sounding like a freight train derailing in a crowded intersection.
My Fix
The repair went without any issues. Once I installed the fan, laptop is back to its whispery quiet old self.
My Advice
Use iFixit. The warranty is a stress reliever, and they provide detailed instructions for the Do-It-Yourselfer. Even if you know what you are doing, like I did, it is handy to have the guide so you don't forget any of the 18 million screws Apple puts in their devices.
