Simple repair

My Problem

My hard drive had been failing. Every two weeks when I was running Disk Utility, it would tell me the hard drive could not be repaired and I would restore from a backup. The system had been running slow on the whole, and the wait cursor appeared frequently.

My Fix

The repair went very well. The hard drive is easily accessible once you get the bottom off of the case.

My Advice

As long as you have the case open, it's worth looking at the fans and cleaning out any dust that might have built up in the vents. I removed both fans and removed a built-up of dust and debris that was partially blocking the exhaust vents.
