My Problem
Old hard drive was intermittently shutting down.
My Fix
With the support of the ifixit repair procedure and the Pro toolkit, everything went without a hitch. I took my time, about two hours, double-checked everything as I went along, and it looked great after reassembly. When I powered it up, it FLEW.
My Advice
Disconnect the LCD panel cable from the panel, not from below the power supply.
