My Problem
For the past 2 months, my wifi had been extremely unreliable phasing in and out which was extremely inconvenient. I tried using a USB wifi dongle, but that seemed a ridiculous work around for a $2000 laptop. After reading online, it made sense that the problem was a the airport cord because it would work some days and not work others. I decided to replace the cord first.
My Fix
The repair was super easy using the iFixit manual. Everything went smoothly, and most importantly, my macbook pro is back to functionality. I am so glad that I chose to replace the airport card first. If you have an macbook pro with spotty wifi, I highly recommend replacing the cord before trying something more drastic.
My Advice
Make sure you keep track of your screws for the back of the computer. It's super easy to lose them.
