Difficult

My Problem

The screen was cracked.

My Fix

Replaced the LCD and digitizer. I found several videos on YouTube that made the repair look fairly easy. Come to find out that if you have large hands, it makes it a little more difficult. Almost complete teardown was required to allow me to be able to plug the cables back in.

My Advice

Follow this guide exactly. I watched other videos that didn't require the battery to be removed, but since my hands are so big, I was not able to get the components plugged back in. I had to remove the battery and lightning flex cable to plug everything back in. Used a hair dryer to heat up adhesive. The iOpener didn't work as well for me as I had hoped. Working with such small components with such large hands can be very difficult. Overall, I'm glad that I replaced the LCD myself. It was a rewarding and fulfilling experience.
