Mid-2009 MacBook Pro battery replacement.
My Problem
The original battery was not holding charge when MBP was unplugged from outlet. It was deplete in under 30 mins. I replaced the battery with the proper one from iFixIt.
My Fix
It was simple really. As long as you get the correct tools to remove the Apple screws. I got the iFixIt took kit, had all the bits needed. Removed the back panel screws, two different lengths. Longer ones in the back near the hinge. Located the battery, unscrewed that and use the plastic pusher took to remove the ribbon cable. Removed the battery, placed the new battery in and done all the steps backwards to put it all together. Booted the computer.. plugged it into the outlet so the battery can fly charge. It come with a 45% charge to it. After it was fully charged, I unplugged it and used it battery only. On average I get 3-3.75 hours on a charge. Im happy with that.
My Advice
Just follow the video provided on iFixIt for your model and all will be great!
