IPod classic repair made difficult.

My Problem

Battery would not hold a charge over more than about 1 day

My Fix

Broke battery connector on main board. The connector is very fragile and even a little pressure caused the connector to fall off. Suspected cold solder joints because the solder pads were not broken. Resoldered onto main board and it worked until I inadvertantly put execess pressure on the contacts and the solder pads pulled right out again. Replaced main board.

My Advice

Go very easy and take extra care not to break battery connector
