MacBook Pro 15" Retina Display Mid 2014 Left Fan Replacement

20 minutes

Easy

My Problem

clicking noise started coming form my macbook pro which turned out to be a screw which had come away and fallen in the fan blades. Needed to replace the fan as it had sheered off all the blades to half length and my mac was running very hot. Couldnt get an appointment with apple within a month and they were unhelpful and expensive.. ifixit made the whole process simple.

My Fix

having read these instructions I bought the part and a screwdrivers as recommended in this article. Instructions are spot on. took less than 20mins and i am not a DIY kind of person. Thanks ifixit, screw you apple!

My Advice

Just follow the instructions.. put your screws somewhere you can find them! (screw gently and remember that if its not going all the way in its probably the wrong hole!)
