Replacing battery on mid-2012 Retina MBP

My Problem

Battery had lost capacity after only 200 cycles

My Fix

Went fine, except that I damaged trackpad cable & had to order a new one. Was able to get it shipped out on a Sunday from Amazon. Lots of tiny screws.

My Advice

Search web for other videos, posts, etc, about detaching the battery. Since Apple will do it for $200, it may be better to just let them do it. I used goof-off and alcohol to loosen the adhesive. Then had to boot with "d" to run diagnostics to diagnose trackpad cable problem. Lots of tiny, delicate connectors, too. Use high-quality magnetized screwdrivers---I used Wiha T5, etc.
