My Problem
My mac-mini has been running slow since the moment I purchased it (granted, I did get it with the lowest specs). It was so slow, I had it boxed up for at least a year. However, I am working on something right now that needs more screen space than my MacBook. So, I decided to try fixing my Mac-mini. I bought a new hybrid hard drive, two new 8GB memory chips, a repair kit, and a hard drive removal tool from iFixit and I was on my way.
My Fix
With the tool-kit from iFixit and the repair guide, the repair went super smooth. It took less than an hour to put the new hard drive and memory chips in. It was super easy and strangely fun. It booted back up great and I was able to restore from time machine. When everything came back on, it felt like a brand new computer - probably even better than something I could buy at the store. It seriously felt like Christmas when I was five. I never give reviews on anything I purchase, but this is an exception I am super satisfied with my purchase.
I also felt it really important to purchase my hard drive and memory from people I trust. Also, they have gone to the trouble of helping me figure out what would work for my computer, so I feel like loyalty is also important here. So, trust and loyalty is why I went with iFixit for everything. Excellent, excellent company.
My Advice
I can't think of any improvements. Everything went great.
