hd cable replacement 2011 mbp13

My Problem

Thought it was a hard drive failure, bought a new hd only to find out it was either the cable or mb. So went the cheapest route first.

My Advice

make sure you get the cable with the little bracket that holds the hd in. Its a little more expensive but well worth it.. after I replaced mine I disconnected the old bracket from the cable (which you would have to do to replace just the cable w/o the rest of the assembly) and I could not get it back together. The cable is folded around a little tiny latch thing that attaches it to a little tiny circuit board. The way it's designed its near impossible to get it back in there and latch the cable down. I only spent about 5 mins trying to get it back together, but with some little tiny screw drivers, and A LOT of patience it may be possible. I was just glad I bought the whole assembly to begin with.
