Difficult

My Problem

The iPhone Lightning connector on my iPhone was starting to become unreliable, as if it wasn't making a connection. I tired the usual fixes (wiggling the Lightning cable until it connected; blowing out the connector jack with canned air) but these were not permanent solutions. The final straw was when the phone battery died overnight twice in one week (while connected to the Lightning cable) and my alarm didn't go off.

My Fix

I purchased the Lightning Connector / Headphone Jack assembly and the P2 Pentalobe driver. I already have the Pro Tech Toolkit. Using the replacement guide found on the web site, I was able to replace the connector and reassemble the phone back to 100% working condition in less than an hour. The written directions and pictures were clear and concise. Overall an excellent guide.

My Advice

The guide says to use a Phillips #00 screwdriver. While that works for most of the screws, I found that using a #000 worked better (especially during reassembly). Also, if you undertake this procedure, be aware that reconnecting the antenna cable connector takes patience. Even with nimble fingers and good eyesight, this took me a while to get seated properly.
