My Problem
My daughter's Kindle Fire HD (2012) began having issues with the audio port for headphones. It was only when we could find a certain "sweet spot" that she could hear clearly without static, if she could find sound at all. Headphones and earbuds are a must for devices in our home and automobiles.
My Fix
After pricing a replacement for the device, I googled for a possible solution for the problem and found the repair video at www.ifixit.com with the list of tools needed and the required part for the device.
The repair was successful, and the Kindle has returned to full functionality thanks to the service provided by www.ifixit.com. The most difficulty part was in removing the cover as was expected from viewing the video. There were no surprises. It was just as the video instructed it would be.
My Advice
