My Problem

About a year ago, after Lollipop came out. My Nexus 7 2013 died. I figured it was something I had done (I think I tried installing one of the pre-release versions), but after scouring the internet, I found that a number of others experienced similar issues. Apparently, there was something in the upgrade that cratered the motherboard. It was out of warranty and ASUS wanted a couple hundred dollars to fix it. I threw it in the drawer and forgot about it.

That is, until I listened to a recent Hanselminutes podcast with Kyle Wiens http://www.hanselminutes.com/505/the-imp.... He inspired me to try repairing it.

My Fix

I ordered a 16GB motherboard and followed the online directions. The repair took me less 30 minutes to complete and it worked perfectly.

My Advice

Don't be afraid to try the repair yourself. Go slowly. Buy the right tools for the job (hammers won't help). You can do it.
