MacBook Pro fan repair

My Problem

The right fan in my MacBook Pro 17" was making an annoying whine. The fan was dying.

My Fix

Thanks to iFixIt and the great instructions on the website for replacing a right fan the repair went very well. I had a friend who works with computers help me. The instructions were very helpful for him.. It took about an hour from start to finish. No problems. It works perfectly. Thank you!

My Advice

We put each set of screws on a separate strip of masking tape to keep them organized – which worked very well. Be patient; pay attention to what you're doing. Read the great instructions and use the right tools.
