My Problem
After sustaining water damage the MBP battery would not recognize the charger. Intermittently, after days of being plugged into the outlet the battery would respond allowing the unit to power up. After going though a process of elimination, we were lucky to find only the battery needed replacement.
My Fix
Our MBP was pronounced dead on arrival after my cup of tea overflowed. I shelved the computer for a year, not willing to accept it's fate. Determined to defy the odds I researched the web and was happy to find other folks experienced similiar catastrophes with positive outcomes. iFixit provided me with a plethora of information and gave me the confidence I needed. Those tutorials really sent the message, "hey you can do this." And I did.
My Advice
Be not afraid! iFixit's tutorials and pictures take the guesswork out of problem solving and eliminate feelings of intimidation as one begins to remove the screws and reveals the inner workings of the computer. I am elated we were able to save her (our MBP) and feel empowered that "I" was able to it. Thanks!
