My Problem

I purchased the repair kit form iFixit to repair a shattered iPad Air screen.

My Fix

The repair was slow going as the repair guide says. Slow and steady wins the race on this one. Do not get impatient or you will not be successful. The reason I stated that I sort of fixed the issue is that my screen was so shattered that the suction cup that came with the kit could not be used. I basically had no choice but to continue breaking the screen around the edges and removing the sticky adhesive to break the digitizer free. In my not so infinite wisdom I used one of the plastic pry bars with the repair kit against the edge and unknowingly used too much force and cracked my LCD screen which was fine prior to me starting the repair.

My Advice

Be super careful with the LCD when removing the digitizer. It is very fragile and I could have saved myself some more money with not having to buy a new LCD screen as well to replace if I had just take more time and went slow.
