My Problem
Not a problem per se, unless you consider slow program load times a problem. Just wanted to add an SSD to create a fusion drive with the existing 1TB platter.
My Fix
The whole process took about 2.5 hours, which includes a test boot before putting the screen back on permanently. The hardest part was getting the screen off completely; the bottom edge did not want to cut free so I started the process with it still attached and propped back against the stand. About 15 minutes in it let go, but I caught it before it fell anywhere. The rest was pretty easy following the iFixIt directions.
My Advice
Have good work area prepped and have a headlamp handy if you have one (especially if your room lighting isn't great).
